Aboriginal Literacy Foundation is very excited and proud to announce that we have a new partner in our Books for Learning Program.
Footys4All (Melbourne, Victoria)
Footys4All have decided to join our very successful Books program in the hope of diversifying their own capacity to help. Footys4All is the fantastic initiative of Michael (Mick) Gallus of Melbourne. Mick decided after some years of helping around the edges of disadvantaged communities that he would help as many children as he could through mentoring & encouragement through sports. Mick and his team have visited hundreds of communities, groups, prisons and schools around the country to give out footy’s, basketball’s, netball’s and soccer balls. All with an edge to encourage and mentor.
Over the last month Footys 4 All and ALF have got together to add books to these deliveries.
As Footys4All have already secured a wonderful partnership with TNT Transports, the ALF now not only win in terms of extra reach and impact (with our books reaching more schools and communities via Footys4All), but we also now save many $1000’s in cartage costs. As such we are stoked at the ability and capacity of this new partnership!
Thanks Michael and Team – lets do great things!
FYI Just so you guys know…. ALF and Footys4All have already donated and sent inexcess of 1500 books to disadvantaged Indigenous communities…and we have only been going a month!
