Melbourne Learning Centre team

Aboriginal Literacy Foundation is excited to announce that our New Melbourne Learning Centre concept will begin a new Literacy, Arts and Culture Mentoring Program on the 10th of September 2015 at the Library at The Dock in Docklands, Melbourne.

The Docklands Library is jewel of a place with a huge array of rooms, free equipment and resources. As such we over joyed with our new partnership with City of Melbourne Libraries.

This unique program will offer a ‘drop in’ homework club and roadshow of arts and culture. Not only will we be exploring music, film and dance, but we will delve into history and culture. All of this will be directed at engaging young Indigenous boys and girls, men and women in their Aboriginality, but also in the education and personal development. We also aim to raise real awareness of Indigenous life and culture among Non Indigenous people.

This new program will be led by Indigenous artists Brent Watkins and Justin Grant, and ALFs
Annie Kent. They will be working in cooperation with Docklands Library’s Thomas Mendelovits (pictured above).

This will be a wonderful program which we hope to see many young Indigenous boys and girls benefit from and enjoy.

Please email us, [email protected] if you’d like to be involved.
